Luke is available for a range of educational services including, but not limited to, private lessons, ensemble instruction, and composing/arranging services for drumline. He has ample experience teaching private percussion lessons to a range of students in the central Arkansas area for over ten years. Luke is also available for roles as an ensemble instructor, having taught several ensembles over the years.
Luke is interested in focused lessons with a small number of driven and talented students. Luke will guide you (or the musician in your life) to identify the areas in need of greatest improvement and then create an action-plan catered to your individual educational needs. As a licensed music educator, Luke has been trained to craft a sequence of learning that will efficiently and effectively create a foundation for success. In addition to private lessons, Luke is an effective ensemble instructor, capable of cleaning up the dirt while also advancing the skills of the ensemble’s members. The bulk of Luke’s experience as an ensemble instructor is as a drumline instructor. Luke has taught the drumlines of Cabot High School, Robinson High School, Parkview High School, and Central High School. Notably, Luke is proudly the battery Coordinator for Lotus Percussion, Arkansas’ sole independent indoor marching percussion ensemble and an open class member of Winter Guard International (WGI). This is a role in which he is the manager of the marching drumline section and is in responsible for overseeing a staff of sub-section technical instructors. However, Luke has also led the rehearsal and instruction for various school concert percussion ensembles as well as the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra percussion section.
